Global sales of consumer technology products were about $950 billion in 2016, according to the Consumer Technology Association. Global electronics sales peaked in 2013 at more than $1 trillion and have been falling ever since, due to price competition and slowing demand for smartphones, PCs, televisions, and other major products.
