Major companies include Caesars Entertainment, MGM Resorts, Las Vegas Sands, and Wynn Resorts (all based in the US); as well as Crown Resorts (Australia); Genting Group (Malaysia); and Galaxy Entertainment Group, Melco Crown Entertainment, and SJM Holdings (all based in Hong Kong).

Global casino gambling revenue, an important indicator for the casino hotel sector, is about $470 billion per year, according to PR Newswire. According to Newzoo's 2020 Global Market Report, the top gaming markets include China, US, Japan, South Korea, and Germany. Emerging markets, especially in the Asia/Pacific region, offer high potential for growth.
